Way back in summer of 2010, Studio Ghibli released its first film from new time director Hiromasa Yonebayashi. A animation veteran at the studio for some time, but along with Goro Miyazaki and another film to come, this is part of the studios plan to introduce the next generation of star directors after Miyazaki and Takahata are gone. The film was called kara-gurashi no Arrietty, but will be retitled The Secret World of Arrietty for America. The story is based on the Mary Norton novel, The Borrowers, but given the Ghibli reimagining treatment. While already on Blu Ray in Japan, and released in European theatres, Disney finally decided to put out a trailer for the American theatrical release in February. Almost two years after Japan… The trailer is pretty damn spoilerific, though if you are any sort of Ghibli fan, you have long since seen the movie with its official english subtitles or European dub already. Now we finally get a glimpse at the American voice cast at least. Support good films by seeing it in theaters next February, or be a schmuck and take your gf to see Madagascar 3, choice is yours.

“and released in European theatres”
You mean “some” theaters, because I don’t remember many theaters showing the movie (at least in Holland)!
