Atlus USA today announced Gungnir, a new SRPG for the PSP. The title is oriented around the strategic application of tactical points in order to achieve victory on the battlefield.

The plot of Gungnir begins when a mysterious, powerful spear, the titular Gungnir, falls from the sky and ends up in the hands of the rebels. The rebels are fighting against a despotic government that would see them all enslaved and wants the spear and girl for themselves. The gameplay is based around using tactical points, which are used for two purposes: gaining more options in combat or speeding up actions. The player must use these points wisely in order to defeat their foes.
