Recently Nintendo held a mostly boring 3DS tapped conference where Nintendo President Satoru Iwata detailed next quarters upcoming lineup of games for the system from a high school gym. There were relatively few surprises besides a new game for Wii called Kiki Tick by Sakamoto, showing what looks like the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Also Iwata took real photos and went on a date with a high school girl in New Love Plus, yikes. Still of the real games shown, we did get some new media on Fire Emblem: Awakening. The game uses a partner system for battle as well as features a world map to travel across which isn’t to common in Fire Emblem games. Reports are also coming out of Japan that this will be the first Nintendo game to feature paid DLC. Looks like we finally get to be nickle and dimed to death by the last first party now. The game releases in Japan on April 19 and normally I would think this would be coming to America as well, but the last released Fire Emblem game didn’t get localized and the three before that sold like shit. Given NOA recent track record with anything RPG like and an already big lineup of other games such as Mario Tennis, Luigi’s Mansion 2, and Kid Icarus: Uprising; the reality of a no show in America is scary and real. Have a look anyways at a title you may never get to play thanks to region locking!

Why must I be taunted by these
I never had enough enthusiasm to meet the FE franchise to begin with. I mean, the first of those to come here was the SEVENTH game in the series. Why caring about a franchise if I can only start playing it since the second half of it? No thanks, Nintendo. I’m only disappointed that there’s nothing relevant for the first eleven months of this year as far as Nintendo is concerned.
Whoah, whoah, whoah…whoah. The seventh game in the franchise just happens to be one of the very best games on the GameBoy Advance system. And theres a whole lot of Fire Emblems that have their own unique stories. Continuations are limited to one sequel or one prequel if that. I highly recommend giving any game in the series a try.
