Monster Hunter 4 Releasing in Japan in March, Goes Online

In a stage presentation at Tokyo Game Show earlier today, Capcom showed off the latest build of the upcoming Monster Hunter 4 for the 3DS. It appears to have all the usual addicting trappings of the past games, but this time it ditches swimming for climbing and scaling all over many rocky and unusual surfaces. The big news though was that the game would support online play on the 3DS and demonstrated the feature on stage with the development team in Osaka. Portable Monster Hunter games typically do not have online features, mostly because Japan is a more tight knit country where local play is much easier for many people to come by on a daily basis. Still this is a big step in the right direction and could possibly hint at a western release not to far behind. One big problem for importers is that it releases the same month that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate does in the west! You can check out the new trailer here, and is it just me or are the graphics pretty damn underwhelming for this title? Oh well, maybe online explains some of it.
